Planes to Africa

A hallmark of the JSS Barristers annual reception are the creative invitations that are sent out to attendees. Our invites for the 2016 reception consisted of an old-school, balsa wood, elastic band airplane. With the help of Colin Glassco at the Glassco Foundation, the leftover plans were sent to Gwembe Valley in Zambia, Africa, where the children have very little to nothing in the way of toys. The smiles on their faces said it all!

Canadian Lawyer has named JSS Barristers as one of the top 10 litigation boutiques in the country this year. JSS Barristers was the only Alberta firm to be so named; the firm is pleased to have received this recognition.
JSS Barristers Counsel on One of the Lexpert “Top Ten” Most Important Business Cases for 2014

Lexpert has released its top ten most important business cases for 2014. Among them is Information and Privacy Commission (Alberta) v United Food and Commercial Workers, Local 401, a case which was an appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada from the Alberta Court of Appeal.
