Globe and Mail: Inaugural List of Canada's Best Law Firms Includes JSS Barristers
(November 16, 2021) - The Globe and Mail, in partnership with Statista, recently released their list of Canada's best law firms. Included in that list is JSS Barristers. The full list of Canada's Best Law Firms can be found on the Globe and Mail website, as well as the December print edition of Report on Business available November 27, 2021.
Canada's Best Law Firms were selected based on recommendations made by lawyers (peer-to-peer survey) and clients (corporate legal departments) in 28 different fields of law. Approximately 20,000 lawyers as well as in-house lawyers/legal executives working in legal departments of a company across Canada were actively invited to take part in the survey. The Top 200 law firms in Canada were identified based on the number of recommendations they received.
The Globe and Mail is a leading national newspaper in Canada. Its print and digital formats reach over 6 million readers every week, with Report on Business reaching over 1.5 million readers every issue in print and digital.

Lexpert: JSS Barristers is the Newest Addition for Securities Litigation

Canadian Law Awards: Diversity Initiative of the Year Award
(October 6, 2020) - The inaugural Canadian Law Awards were held today. The event, which recognizes Canada's leading law firms, in-house legal teams and lawyers, was held via online streaming due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
JSS Barristers was awarded the Excellence Award as a finalist for the Bereskin & Parr Diversity Initiative of the Year award for our "Enhancing Diversity and Inclusion in Recruitment and Advancement Policy."
A New Addition to Dispute Resolution Class Action in Chambers Canada, Still Ranked Among Top Firms in General Commercial Litigation
(September 9, 2020) - JSS Barristers is the latest firm to be added to as a Band 3 Dispute Resolution: Class Action practice area by Chambers Canada.
With cybersecurity becoming increasingly important in society, privacy and date protection have become notable areas of growth for the class action team, highlighted by two separate class actions against CIBC/Simplii Financial and the Bank of Montreal in relation to a 2018 data breach that affected over 90,000 customers, some of whom had their financial information published on the Internet.
Carsten Jensen QC, FCIArb, the first lawyer at JSS Barristers to be ranked in Chambers for class actions, is added to the distinguished list of practitioners in the area in Band 4.

About the survey
