Michael McCaffrey is an Associate at JSS Barristers, practicing in a broad range of civil litigation matters with a developing focus on corporate and commercial disputes. He joined the Firm as an articling student in 2025.
Education
Michael earned his J.D. from the University of British Columbia in 2025. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a minor in Business Studies from MacEwan University.
During law school, Michael gained hands-on experience in both advocacy and business law through the LSLAP legal clinic, Pro Bono Students Canada, and UBC’s Business Law Clinic. His work included representing low-income clients, supporting access-to-justice initiatives, and advising small businesses and entrepreneurs on corporate matters.
Personal
Michael enjoys spending quality time with his dogs, boxing recreationally, sampling artisan ice cream in all seasons, and any combination thereof.
Community
Before joining JSS, Michael worked in community services, forensic mental health, and hospitality, with longstanding involvement in local arts and music communities. These experiences shaped a practical client-centered approach that he now brings to his practice at JSS.
