We are happy to announce, effective February 1, 2026, Ryan Phillips as the firm’s new Managing Partner. Ryan joined the firm as an Associate in 2014, and has been a Partner at JSS Barristers since 2020.
Ryan is an experienced advocate in commercial litigation and administrative law, with particular expertise in contractual interpretation and concurrent negligence claims, arbitration, construction, professional negligence, and judicial review. Throughout his career, he has acted in numerous high-stakes commercial and public law disputes, bringing a pragmatic and strategic approach to complex matters.
In 2023, Ryan was named Emerging Talent Alberta Litigator of the Year by Benchmark Litigation. We are grateful to have Ryan step into this role and look forward to the continued growth and success of the firm.
