Paige Gratton returns to JSS Barristers as an articling student after summering at the firm in 2023.
Education
Paige graduated from Law School at the University of Alberta in 2024. Paige’s law school journey began in 2021 by attending University of Manitoba’s Robson Hall. After her first year, she transferred to the University of Alberta to complete her Juris Doctor. Originally from St. Albert, Alberta, Paige attended MacEwan University in Edmonton and in 2020 obtained a Bachelor of Arts majoring in sociology with a criminology specialization and a minor in psychology. Paige achieved recognition of her academic success by being awarded placement on the Dean’s List from 2018 to 2020.
Paige was inspired to pursue litigation through her involvement with moots in law school. Paige first participated in the Mini Moot Competition at Robson Hall where she was a finalist. At the University of Alberta, Paige participated in the Morrison LLP Family Law Moot and the Wilson Moot where she was a researcher, and the University of Alberta took first place.
Community
During her time at Robson Hall, Paige volunteered for Pro Bono Students Canada and conducted a research project focused on the rights of a marginalized community. Paige continued volunteering at the University of Alberta through Student Legal Services and as a moot mentor where she advised first year students on their moot experience. In her last year, Paige volunteered with Student Legal Services as part of the newly established Emergency Protection Order Program, where she conducted interviews with individuals seeking protection orders and assisted in drafting those orders. Paige was also an active member of the student groups the Women’s Law Forum and Outlaws.
Personal
In her spare time, Paige enjoys thrifting, hiking, and curling. After learning to curl at Robson Hall, Paige joined the Edmonton Lawyers Curling League to curl on a student team for her last two years of law school. Paige also enjoys travelling and spending time with her friends and family.
