Darren J. Reed, Former Partner, Appointed as Justice of Court of King's Bench of Alberta

We are honored to note that a former partner of JSS Barristers, Darren J. Reed, was appointed as a Justice of the Court of King’s Bench of Alberta by The Honourable Arif Virani, Minister of Justice and Attorney General of Canada on October 23, 2023.  Justice Reed was sworn in on February 9, 2024 in a ceremony held at the Calgary Courts Centre.

While at JSS Barristers Justice Reed’s civil litigation practice focused on commercial dispute resolution.  

Justice Reed continues to maintain close relationships with many of the people at JSS Barristers, including by singing in the Advocats, the JSS Barristers band. We wish him nothing but the best in his new appointment.
