We’re pleased to welcome Julianna Lyon, Articling Student, to the JSS Barristers team.

Julianna joined JSS Barristers as a summer student in 2024 and returned to the firm to complete her articles in 2026.

Julianna earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Toronto in 2025. Prior to beginning her articles, she completed a judicial clerkship at the Alberta Court of Justice, where she gained valuable insight into judicial decision-making and the adjudication process.

During law school, Julianna was actively involved in moot court. She won the 2024 Frank Callaghan Memorial Cup, a constitutional law moot, and was selected to represent her school at the 2025 Kawaskimhon Aboriginal Law Moot. Before attending law school, she earned a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Honours) in Global Development Studies from the University of Calgary.

Outside of the office, Julianna enjoys spending time outdoors cycling, hiking, golfing, and skiing. She is also an avid photographer who loves to travel with her cameras in tow. A passionate music lover, she is a member of the Westwinds Music Society’s Young Adult Choir.
