We’re excited to welcome Devin Gallo, Summer Law Student, to the JSS Barristers team.
Devin is currently pursuing his Juris Doctor at the University of Calgary, Faculty of Law, and is expected to graduate in 2027. Prior to beginning law school, he completed an Honours degree in Political Science at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where he achieved the Dean’s List.
Outside of law, Devin enjoys attending music concerts, learning new languages, and playing the guitar. Having played competitive soccer growing up, he continues to stay active by participating on various soccer teams in Calgary.
Devin is passionate about community involvement and has contributed to a variety of initiatives over the years. In Halifax, he volunteered with the Italian Canadian Cultural Association, helping plan community events, facilitate festivities throughout the year, and participate in club activities.At law school, Devin volunteers with Pro Bono Students Canada on projects that support legal education for youth and improve access to justice in relation to human rights concerns.
Devin is also an active member of the University of Calgary Environmental Law Society and served as Co-President for the 2025/2026 school year. In this role, he helped create an engaging and welcoming space for students to discuss environmental legal issues and organized initiatives such as a clothing drive to provide accessible, cost-friendly formal wear for law students beginning their legal careers.
