Giovanni Perri (he/him/his)

Giovanni Perri is an Associate at JSS Barristers, practicing in various areas of civil litigation, with a particular focus on administrative, public, and regulatory law, as well as corporate and commercial litigation, and securities and shareholder matters. Giovanni is a first-generation law graduate, having earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Western Ontario.

Experience

Giovanni’s practice philosophy is shaped by a diverse background, including his role as a Commercial Assistant with the U.S. Department of Commerce and his time with the in-house counsel team of a FinTech start-up in Calgary, Alberta. He has represented clients before several levels of court, including the Court of Justice, the Court of King’s Bench, and the Alberta Court of Appeal.

Education

Prior to pursuing his law degree, Giovanni attended Mount Royal University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Policy Studies (Honours), with minors in Economics and Political Science.

Community

Giovanni is also dedicated to community involvement. While at Western Law, he participated in a number of advocacy initiatives, including the Community Legal Services Clinic and the Sport Solution Clinic. He co-founded and served as Co-President of the Western Italian Students Law Society, helping to share Italian culture within the legal community.

Personal

Outside of work, Giovanni enjoys hiking, skiing, and golfing with friends and family. He is also passionate about hockey, both as a player and coach, and enjoys traveling to explore new cultures.
